My Story...

Like many of you, I was mesmerized by the British invasion and of course the Beatles. Once I saw them on Ed Sullivan I knew what I wanted to do. I grew up in the early 60’s, second youngest in a family of 8. My oldest brother “Buddy” Played Guitar in a band, my mother (Alice) sang in the sweet Adeline’s, my oldest sister (Susan) also sang and loved show tunes, my brother (Kenny) also played guitar and my youngest brother (Todd) played drums. So, I guess you could say “it’s no wonder why I have a love for music”. My brother taught me a few chords and I started to learn the guitar.

My family didn't have much money and I couldn’t afford my own guitar, so I had to beg and borrow my brother’s guitar when he wasn’t using it (which was all the time). Over time I saved up some money and bought my own $30 guitar. Because it was a cheap no-name brand it didn’t play very well. Just like Bryan Adam's sings:”I played it till my fingers bled, and that was the summer of 69”. My friend “JP” had a Gretsch solid body guitar. His mother bought him a new Gibson guitar and offered to sell me his Gretsch. So, week after week for almost a year, I paid him with my school lunch money. Needles to say, I starved myself at school. Finally, I had something that played well and sounded GREAT!

I did the band thing during my teenage years…and had a lot of fun and memories doing so. But then reality set-in…My father said “I had to make a choice” play music and starve or get a job. I decided to enter into the military. During that time I didn’t have a guitar and stop playing all together. When I left the Navy, I got married and raised three boys. Then, in my 30’s, I bought a guitar and started playing again. I Put a band together called “Revolver” and started gigging. Over time I bought a Fender, a Gibson and one guitar after another I started collecting. Now that the kids have grown I found myself wanting to do something with my passion. I learned through photographs what John, George and Paul had played during their Beatles career and as kids. So one at a time, I searched for every guitar model and for the most part achieved my goal. But, it didn’t stop there…there were other guitar hero’s that I idolized: Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen and the list goes on. Slowly but surely, I collected the models that they played.

Sadly, as fate will have it, I've been diagnosed with MS and my playing ability has been greatly reduced. I had to quit the band and except my fate. This brings me to where I am today writing this brief story. I decided to start this web site. My original idea was to display all the instruments. Now, I’ve decided to put them up for sale. As you go thru the categories you'll see that a lot of time and care went it to developing the content. I am always improving and open to suggestions…so send them.

Well, that’s about it….Play on!
